Some of the people of these programmes are beyond belief.
The programme that I’m watching today has one of those people. I don’t know where to start.
Unsurprisingly he’s single. He likes to go online dating so he doesn’t have to waste money on dinners or fuel. When he does go on a date he tries to convince his date to share a children’s meal, she is not persuaded and orders a pulled pork sandwich with a side of macaroni. He orders a single rib and ends up asking for half of his dates food.
He leaves all of the labels on his clothes so he can return them when fashions change. I don’t know how he gets away with it though because he washes his clothes in the shower while he’s wearing them. He also has a bucket in the shower to collect the water and at the end of the week they flush the toilet once. Is it worth saving a couple of dollars a week on toilet flushing?! That would be one compromise too far for me. They showed his toilet and I can’t begin to tell you how disgusting it was. He also uses newspaper as toilet paper and instead of hand towels.
I do understand that life is expensive and it takes a long time to earn money compared to how quickly you can spend it but I’d rather go without holidays and treats than proper toiler paper, clean clothes and toilet flushing!
What compromises would you make to save money?
